  • Let It STOP !

As a Beatles fan from the first time I heard them on the radio in January 1964 I was always eager for their next release until this poor excuse for an album came out. Ragged recordings turned over to Phil Spector to scrape together enough so-so material to call an Album. George Martin was the “5th “Beatle and if he had been producing their new album he probably would’ve scrapped this mess and started over. The song “Let It Be” is meaningful to Paul but it is not one of his best .

Ughh, here we go, people conflating L&M's hissy fits with the quality of the music. I woulda been first in line to plant a pair of boots up the backsides of these two over-pampered crybabies, but the music still stands as pristine pop music extraordinaire. Phil Spector didn't ruin anything here, what drivel. The music is beautiful and not compromised in any way, despite the Liverpool lads' boohoo splitting a diamond into four parts, way, way super stupid.

Honestly a lot of people say that this is the Beatles worst album but honestly there is no worst Beatles album! I’m only 14 (15 in June) but I love the Beatles! But by some this is definitely a controversial album. Why? Mainly because it was mixed by Phil Spector and for the added orchestra. And yes I don’t really care for the studio chatter in the beginning of some of the songs and the song Dig It is heavy edited. That being said though as much as I like Let It Be Naked (that’s the version I listened for years) this original version of this album is not actually that bad. The orchestra arrangements is why I love this album! Seriously the Orchestra on the song The Long And Winding Road is a masterpiece! I mean don’t get me wrong like I said for the longest time I never listened to this version however after I watched The Beatles documentary Get Back on Disney Plus I decided to listen to this version of let it be and I appreciate this album more!

A beautiful goodbye album. However not one of my favorites. The title track is so beautiful though and will be timeless.
