After buying all the recent mastered Beatles albums here on iTunes, I have come to the conclusion that although they do sound fantastic at times, they can also sound shrill and harsh at others. Take “I’m Looking Through You” for example. Yes it sounds great at low volume, and maybe even on some headphones or a computer set-up, but I use a vintage Sansui amp with a nice set of Klipsch speakers along with an EQ. And the end result is I just can’t crank it with these remasters.
The guitar at the end of the verses (on said-song above) is just ridiculously high for example. I turned the treble down and switched on the high-filter and it was still blaring louder than the rest of the track. I thought my windows were gonna crack or dogs would start barking in the neighborhood for a second there. “Run for Your Life” suffers from the same thing. It’s odd that a track can sound so absolutely clean and beautiful one second and then hurt your ears the next and have you reaching for the volume.
I dunno, I guess it depends on the gear of the user, or the gear used in the remastering. Maybe they needed some tweeters and didn’t know it but tried to compensate by cranking the treble. Maybe someone with “fresh” ears should have done the final ok on something better than an iPhone with a Bluetooth speaker in the office. Or a modern car stereo …notorious for compression.
Audiophiles, beware of the samples you hear here. They might impress at first, but your current collection is probably just fine.

Never a bright line, but this is where the boys grew up a bit. Still a lot of la lala and ooh ooh, perhaps more befitting of a children's choir than grown men, but, oh, they did it so well. And they still acted lke children, so that helped I suppose. Anyway, these songs cooed up against the eardrums, prepubescent girls squealed and old people nodded their heads while tapping their feet. Everybody's happy and the Liverpool lads got rich. Yay for everyone.
MY FAVORITE BEATLES ALBUM

I love rubber soul and always will. I could listen to almost all the songs on repeat and never get tired of hearing it. It has 2 of George Harrison’s most under appreciated songs, “If I Needed Someone” and “Think for Yourself”
In my life

By “In My Life”
In 1965, I was 13 y/o. Just yesterday, I was w/my wife of 45 years, she was watching a Christmas themed movie & at one point, someone played the piano & I recognized the tune as “In my life” by the Beatles. I did a quick search & located the lyrics. I read them to my wife & they choked me up to where I could not finish reading them. Just 3 months prior, my wife almost left us all. She needed surgery & we were concerned she would not survive. She did. Reading the lyrics brought back to me just how close to dying she was at that time & it was painful to remember. As I was writing this review, the thought of just how close she was, of going away forever, made writing this review difficult to finish. I hope this review is able to be posted, maybe someone else has had a similar experience.

I’m only 15 years old but I’ve been listening to The Beatles since the 2009 stereo Remasters first came out when I was a year old. So while This album may not be as good as Abbey Road, Help!, or The White album this is still a pretty good album! My favorite songs are You Won’t See Me, Nowhere Man, The Word, Michelle, Girl and In My life !

When I first listened to Rubber Soul, I was blown away. Along with Revolver and Hard Day’s Night, the Beatles write and sing their best songs. You don’t have to interpret them. The lyrics are genuine.

This is hands down one of their best albums! Each song is so different but blends so well. Upbeat to soothing you can’t go wrong!
