This was the first Rolling Stones album that I liked start to end. I could put it on and with a flip halfway through listen to the entire thing. There isn’t a track on “ Aftermath “ that I could call filler which couldn’t be said about previous albums.Although there are some differences between the British LP and the American version I prefer the U.S. release. This was the first Rolling Stones record Radio stations were playing album tracks from. “Under My Thumb” was nearly as popular as “Paint It Black” on request radio. Some radio stations were even going so far as playing the Eleven minute song “Goin’ Home” on the night shift. Could FM Rock be far off ? This was a leap ahead for the Stones joining the Beatles,Bob Dylan, The Kinks and the Beach Boys in forward looking Rock music!

Lady Jane, Under my Thumb ... These are the classics played on the radio in my youth. They are so much rawer and so much better to me than later stones music. Not that I don't like their later offerings, it is just that these songs are much better in my opinion.

57 years ago today this album was released in the United States! This album was already released in the UK on April 15th of 1966 however the US version wasn’t released until July 2nd of 1966. Now in my opinion I prefer the UK version of this album however what I really like about this US version is that it has the song Paint It, Black which is a really great song! Overall I think the both the UK and US version of this album is unique in different ways and this is still a classic album 57 years later!

This is one of my personal favorite The Rolling Stones albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. Also, this album has great vocals, great drum solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album from The Rolling Stones.
