We will never know what this album could have been if it was released in 1967. Regardless, it was a long time coming for this to release. Brian put a lot of thought and effort bigger than Pet Sounds to make Smile a reality. It's in the same levels of Sgt Pepper; both of them have equally impacted music forever and still today now that Smile's original recording are offically out to the public; giving fans interperate their version of Smile if it was released in 67, and that gave Brian Wilson the motivation to complete his vision after nearly 40 years avoiding it. All I can say is....thank you, Brian. Truley a genius.

A kaleidoscope of soundscapes blended together by the theme of Manifest Destiny and love of America transcends your ears, taking you to a state of mind not even fathomable by the human mind. SMiLE Sessions will go down in the history of music as one of the high points of both the evolution of Rock and the capabilities of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys.
  • The last great 67 Masterpiece finally released

I really wish this would have came out in 1967 when it was supposed to, I think it really would have made a larger impact sitting next to Sgt Pepper (The Beatles), Are You Experienced (The Jimi Hendrix Experience) and Her Satanic Majesties Request (the Rolling Stones). Everyone was competing with each other for the best psychedelic experimental album. Nobody knew Brian Wilson had already beaten them all, if it would came out then it probably would have divided ppl like Pet Sounds did but the impact on music perhaps would have been larger. Instead we look at it now and appreciate it in retrospect. Perhaps its better that way...who knows how things would have been, but at least we all got a chance to finally hear it, better late than never.

I'm not one for hyperbole, but this album kind of blew my mind. It's so strange, scattered and beautiful.

If you could name 3 albums that have affected music it is this, Pet Sounds, and Sgt. Pepper's. All equally brilliant this is just one of the best pieces of music ever. Brian Wilson you are a genius and this by far is one of Rock n' Roll's finest creations. No album except the other two I mentioned reaches the impact and the amount of brilliance Smile has achieved. Even though it is at a point to which this is what we can work with it, it still is magnificent. God bless Mr. Wilson

What a great album!!!! If it would have came out in full in the 60's it would have been the greatest album of all time. Every person that loves music or ever wants to create music should buy this album. Thank you Brian for the soundtrack of my life!!!!!

Yes I think this is the greatest album of all time, and then comes Sgt. Pepper by The Beatles. Why? Don't get me started. Keep one thing in mind - This album was not finished in 1967, when it would have come out. If you want to get a close approximation as to what it would have been like in 1967, purchase tunes 1-19. But I think Surf's Up would have been the last song and Good Vibrations would have been somewhere in the middle. Hey - get into the spirit - Make your own list of songs, in the order that makes sense to you. In that sense, this is the first interactive album. It's a lot of fun. Much lighter than Pet Sounds. A very light and happy album. Enjoy!!
