You know, if The Beatles give an album a positive plug, then it’s top notch. Rest in peace, Brian Wilson. One of the most brilliant musicians and lyricists of our time.

This album changed how people would hear music because of it’s greatness and influence. To this day looked at by great song writers as a masterpiece.

I simply don't get the hype or the inflated reviews. This is not a great album or even a good one.

I echo some of the other commenters. Hard to wrap my brain around all the accolades this album has gotten including from Mr. Paul McCartney himself.. Most of it sounds like overproduced elevator music, with several great hits salted in amongst it. The singing is wonderful throughout, it has no doubt insanely complex arrangements, I love the smokey echoey drum sound that you hear in Mowton a lot, but it seems fairly lugubrious, syrupy, and forgettable, as a whole--at least to me and I've been trying to go ga ga over it for years, and here I am, failing once again.
