This was the beginning of the Howe’s Company years which served its purpose in reigniting the allure of Bad Co in the late 80’s & early 1990’s.
This really has no resemblance to the Paul Rodgers fronted Bad Co- you’ll notice plenty of keyboards and ballads on tap.
It’s my least favorite of the 4 studio releases featuring Brian Howe on the mic.
They would easily surpass this release with Dangerous Age and Holy Water.
That’s not to say it’s a bad album, it just wasn’t what one would expect from Bad Company.
In some ways, it’s a refreshing change of pace from the same old same we’d come to know.
Some love it and some despise it.
I’m in the middle and enjoyed it for what it was at the time, good rock music from some great proven performers.
However, at the time I thought they used entirely too many keyboards and was conflicted with the production job which was all the rage in the mid 80’s.
It also did take some time for me to get acclimated to Brian Howe’s vocals as they were so different than what I was used too.
Back in the day, I recall hearing “This Love” on certain radio stations, and although some fans took too it, I never really did.
The album has some flashes of brilliance and new updated 1980’s sound and production.
Love that guitar solo in “Burning Up” which I feel is one of the best recorded by Bad Co Mk 1 or 2.
“Fame and Fortune” is another favorite of mine off this album.
After all these years, I still play it loud and proud.
“If I’m sleeping” and “Tell it like it is” are also some of the better tracks.
It’s not a desert island disc but has some solid moments and is worth getting to complete someone’s Bad Co collection.

I agree they need more of Bad Company. Check out the band Free. Same lead singer and they have a very similar sound. Free is from the late 60's early 70's.

Some of the best BC I've heard is an album that has not been available on i-tunes. Burnin' Sky was one of the best albums I've heard.
