Good swan song

Compared to what came after this---- it's a gem.
Pretty weak.

If this same offering had been presented by a lesser band you might think it was okay or that they at least had great potential. However... Knowing what this Iconic bunch is capable of leaves the listener disappointed.
Contractual obligation album?

The only good song is track 1. Makes me wonder if it was just a final album in the contractual obligation. Boy this stinks.
Bad to the bone!

Bad Company was a great band, and this last album of the original line up is a gem.
A slightly different twist....

Yes, it’s a slightly different beast in the Bad Company cannon of music.
For years I was a bit annoyed the boys left us with this final release and I always felt they sputtered off into the horizon.
When I first heard this album in the late 80’s it just seemed a bit light and lacking when compared to the other Bad Company releases.
But time is the great avenger as they say and after all these years, this release has some legs to it!
Time allows you to truly appreciate how much of a quality release Rough Dimaonds was/is.
Rough Diamonds (alongside Burnin’ Sky) are hugely underrated in my humble opinion.
Some listeners may prefer the more commercially successful albums from Bad Company, but Rough Diamonds does show us some different light and shade from the guys. It’s a welcome relief at times from the standard Bad Company “formula”.
Electricland is the real gem on Rough Diamonds.
Other favorites includes “Untie the knot”, “Painted Face”, “Kickdown”, & “Downhill Ryder”
And if the synths & chorus to “Racetrack” don’t stick in your subconscious, check your pulse.
After all these years, I haven’t grown tired of hearing any song on this release.
All of the influences are scattered over this release. Some country, some blues, more Chuck Berry inspired chords, and of course Mr. Rodger’s husky superb vocals.
Give it another shot or take them time to get to know this release for the first time.
when its over its over

I was one of the few people to like this record, thought it was like old times hearing some new Bad Company at the time 1982. this record is long gone lost but i just downloaded it. going to step back to the early 80's Paul Rogers 1 of the great voices in rock.
