This band is terrible now. They peaked with Joshua Tree. This is terrible. Leftwing garbage from a capital tosser

In times characterized by conflict, this is just what so many of us need: songs that acknowledge the struggle and inspire hope.
  • Beautiful resumption

From Boy to ATYLB, U2 was making songs from their core. As they aged, their next albums began to feel fearful of losing relevance. Beyond their inherent great talents, they began to sound commercially concerned. Bono’s lyrics began to be trite. Edge became repetitively “soaring.” The Apple thing showed the symptoms. But Ash and Easter strip it all away and the band has returned to their core. As a life long fan, I’m thrilled to see that.
  • Not Up to U2’s Potential

As a lifelong U2 fan, I didn’t enjoy this EP. It felt rushed and not very polished, regardless of the meaning behind the lyrics. I know they’re capable of much better, and I hope this is just a small departure from their usually great-sounding music.
  • Love it.

  • Music & Politics Don’t Mix…So shut up and sing!

When I listen to music, I want to be entertained. I want to escape the madness of politics, war, and the bombardment of people telling me what they want or what I should do. Music is escapism. What U2 used to get right was minimalism, abstract, and not literal, but more figurative with their lyrics. Their music was raw, energized, loud, anthemic, and beautifully melodic. Once upon a time, the songs could be interpreted on many different levels. This is what you did so well! Over the last 20 years, U2 have been preaching politics in your face, and telling us, “if you don’t think like we do, you should!” Big mistake. Everyone has a point of view and for reasons we don’t need to explain. My message to U2 - I don’t care about your political point of view. I got one too. Just do what you once did best - Shut up & sing and make some good noise.

All the problems in the world and we’re worried about someone who blocked police.
  • Classic U2

The sound and vibe of this album is on track with their established body of work. Anyone complaining about it being “too woke” or “liberal” obviously hasn’t paid attention to their lyrics over the decades OR isn’t a fan and are just here to complain. It’s not quite 5 stars as no one song hooked me like in past albums. But the songs are worth adding to the rotation.

Always nice to see a handful of clowns making up multiple usernames simply to give a negative review. You do not have to listen to this. Just go back, put your earbuds in, and listen to "Donald Trump Sings Other Peoples' Greatest Hits".
