For me Ayra Starr’s first album is my fav. It was the first project that introduced me to the superstar. So even though it’s not perfect it’ll always have a special place in my heart. With that said this album, StarrGirl, comes close. This is a transitional album, of her trying to cement herself as a Nigerian global act. She experimented with any genre she wanted and her accents completely changes in some of the songs. I’m impressed with how much of a chameleon she is. Every song flows into each other quite well. Standouts are Misunderstood, Where do we Go, Hot Body, and Dangerous. I will say the only criticism is that her ballads can come across a little generic. She had much better slow songs like Beggie Beggie and Toxic.

I’ve been an Ayra fan since the first album and she keeps getting better and better. You can tell she’s dedicated to her craft as it shows up in every song she’s ever released. She is one of the few large black artists who inspire young girls to reach for the stars! Her music saves and I’m so glad to be in a timeline where I’m able to listen and enjoy😭💜
