I remember buying the 45 of Borderline and thinking hmmmm this is nice. Returned to the ranks with Papa Don’t Preach - that strings intro was the moment I became a fan. And with each passing album I turned from fan into disciple. This era is true exaltation and I find myself listening to this album with the same fervor and dedication that drove me to literally break two cassette singles of Vogue in my Z28. Before CDs, I would listen to Journey and Madonna until the tape would actually stretch and tear. This is a repeat of that moment and feels just like I did in my 20s, a country come to town Coloradan dancing until dawn at Twilo and Roxy. I feel so free. Thank you Mother.
