I think NPR gives voice to my feelings about this soul-stirring album best: 'Grief is an emotion that knocks on the door of memory, expressing gratitude for the chance it gives to encounter lost loves. The same could be said about new love - it knocks on the door of the future, which we can only really imagine within the context of the past' Thank you, Phoebe.
Beautiful album, punisher was a good follow up. This is matured, leveled up, and has such depth.

My favorite will always be waiting room and steamroller. And stranger in the alps is the best full album. But this is a really amazing album. I am super glad she did not slow her music down. It’s a very difficult thing to have maturity in sound, yet not deviate from what makes her music so compelling. Well worth the 6 year wait.

I feel like we are being pushed into thinking PB is some magical songwriter. Sorry, every album I listen, stream and listen. And I just don’t get it. I think all her stuff is awful. Seriously. And my tastes run a broad spectrum of genres. Anyway…I guess I’m just one of the ones that doesn’t get it.

As much as my daughter wants me to like PB’s music, I can’t. I find her music to be extremely boring and uninspiring. I just can’t do it. It’s torturous to my soul. This album is no different. Lost Weekend is a random and unorganized mess. It sounds like a bunch of unfinished tracks were thrown onto the album last minute. Poor production quality as well. The tracks sounds like the album was recorded in a basement bedroom.
