Had this been a debut album (by anyone) it would have been a sensation.

Probably my second favorite strokes album (2nd to IsThisIt ofc). Comedown machine is an incredible record where the strokes reinvent their sound while still having the strokes' signature qualities.

Love it. So much. But this album isn't included in your Complete Collection, so it really should be called the Incomplete Collection. Please add, the album itself is great.

If you couldn't tell by the title, I'm a huge strokes fan, and am in love with their earlier work, especially. I miss their old garage feel that was both raw with emotion, and filled with catchy chord patterns and choruses. However, this album is definitely NOT what I wanted from the strokes that I've known since I was born. (Is this it actually came out on my birthday) This album seems like a indie-Pop album, which I don't like at all. However, the songs "50/50" truly feels like it could've been in "is this it" as it has that raw, garage/alt rock feel that the strokes don't show in any other song in this album. However, All the time is also a terrific song.

Comedown Machine is so much more different than their debut album, but it's just as amazing or even better! The Strokes have been slowly changing their sound since First Impressions Of Earth and in the end it worked great and they have made a masterpiece of an album.
