    Unfortunately as big a fan of Chopin I am, this album was just missing the touch of Chopins masterpieces, the “bell like tone of his right hand” just sounds like he played it louder, and was missing some musicality, the proper way this should have been done is to make the left hand softer, not the right hand louder, and the left hand is missing in character and dynamics this is still a great album though. But I have to agree with “Hit and Miss” the songs were missing some of the romance Chopins masterpieces usually have.

    I have the original record and I know his piano. Piano sounds like the engineer boosted it. He is playing a Steinway with no equalizer. It sounds more lyrical on moving coil.

    Arthur Rubinstein was considered the foremost Chopin interpreter of the 20th century. One can say "I don't like the way he plays these" or "For me it sounds too much like Mozart". But to say [Rubinstein] forgot that he was playing Chopin" is ridiculous. This album is marvelous, a joy, a wonder. Highly recommended.
