Stateless

It sort of sounds like a depressing song, but to me it talks bout how love can be hard and yet you' re don't care because you love the person you with. I feel like crying every time I hear this song. I wish the guy I love could love me back. Good luck to couples out there who are head over Heels in love with each other.

I must admit that I fell in love with Stateless after listening to the soulful, "Bloodstream." But once I bought the album and sorted through the rest, I was sold. Not only are the lyrics well delivered by a voice the mixture of Damien Rice, Chris Martin, and some other great artist, but the beats and melodies alone are phenomenal. It's a great combination of piano, violin, and modern technology-- for this combination I'm looking at the song "This Language." The album is captivating and I highly reccommmend it.

Bloodstream has officially found its place onto my list of all time favorite songs. I've been listening to it non-stop since I first heard it. It's a beautiful and haunting lamentation.

I first came across Stateless after hearing Chris James contribute vocals to DJ Shadow's last album, The Outsider. I picked up the self titled debut on Studio !K7, and got treated to exactly what I was looking for - indie tracks mixed with trip-hop beats and a hint of that Radiohead sound. Stateless is a Leeds based band comprising of afore mentioned Chris James on vocals, guitars and keyboards; Justin Percival on the bass; David Levin on the drums; Rod Buchanan-Dunlop on live-FX and keyboards, and Gerard Roberts (Kidkanevil) on the turntables adding that staple Portishead feel. By the time you reach the third track, Bloodstream, which also appeared as a promo single (with two remixes by Henrik Schwarz), you realize that Stateless got somethin' there. Still a bit in the shadow of Josh Davis [pun intended?], Stateless is starting to pick up steam across the UK electronic/indie scene. Listening to an album a couple of times, you realize that Stateless' lyrics are full of soul. This is the kind of album you've been craving for without knowing. Play Bloodstream to your [non-electronic-inclined] friends in a car, and they'll be asking you questions about the artist, to which, in a matter-of-fact voice you can reply, "Oh, that? That's Stateless. Haven't you heard?" Recommended if you also follow leftfield sound from Hird, Plej, Little Dragon, Unkle and Nostalgia 77.

Bloodstream was the first song I heard from them. I fell in love with the Piano melody and a similar voice of Thom Yorke with the twist of Portishead.

Bloodstream and Exit are by far the best songs on the album. I keep putting this album on as background music while I work but the songs keep demanding that I pay attention to them. Great album!

When did chris martin join radiohead.

I love these pieces, and that's on their own terms. I can't understand the comparison to Radiohead, because the scoring, pacing, and mood are completely different, and the singer sounds more like Chris Martin--if Martin were any good, that is--than Thom Yorke. The downtempo pieces are atmospheric and dreamlike, and the singing manages to be expressive and ethereal at the same time. Inscape is my favorite, a haunting and gorgeous sound. I'm glad to find this band, who will undoubtedly go far.
