I nearly lost my mind the first time I heard Big Audio Dynamite on a college radio station. I immediately ran out and bought the cassette. I was blown away. This is a classic album of all time. Very underrated, except for those who knew!

Mick Jones has a few decent hooks left and makes a record way better than Joe Strummer. At the time people thought this was the fortune of the two guys, Mick on the way up and Joe on the way down. Turned out to be the exact opposite as this is the last decent output from Mick Jones and even then half the record is still sort of a waste of time. But the good moments are so good it's worth it. After a somewhat desperate reunion on the next BAD album, Joe Strummer started making records better than this.

This is one of those albums that stands alone today, 25 years after it came out. I remember sitting in my friends room with a bunch of guys and the song "BAD" came on the college station and all of them began singing the rap at the end. I was in shock and had to run out and get it myself. Bought the cassette that day, took it home and played it until I knew all the words to all the songs. That is what kind of album this is. You just don't forget it.

From the first time I dropped the cassette into my car deck, I could tell this was a groundbreaking album. "Medicine Show" was something new from Mick Jones, I expected something more rocking and, well, Clash-ish, but clearly this was meant as a break from that. That song, as well as the whole album, was the first time that I heard sampling in music. MJ is an underrated and unsung genius. In my opinion, this is the best of all the B.A.D. releases. Buy it now!
