Someone else reviewed with the same overall note I am. that the whole thing is great, however, when 3 of 10 songs were released as singles long before the cd and almost every song was trickled out rather than just releasing the album as a whole and remixes of tracks to me are fine but aren’t “new music” in my opinion. Not a bad song among them but feels a little lazy/corporate to have several previously released songs as part of a “new album”. When the worst part of a review is “its not enough we need more” you aren’t doing too bad.

Whoever at iTunes decides what genre an artist or music group a release falls into needs a brain realignment. This is NOT metal.

Vast majority of the songs were already released as singles. Won’t buy the singles anymore if this doesn’t a how their album releases are going to go, I basically bought a half dozen songs twice.

Exactly what I wanted. It’s unfortunate we can’t have the album as more of surprise but I understand why a band releases the singles the way they do. Nonetheless fun album exactly what I wanted. Right now my favorite songs are heartbreaker, way you are, and savior and still waiting. The remixes are fun too.

EC has outdone themselves with this album.
Tanzneid is everything you’d expect from Electric Callboy—with a few surprises. You can really hear them leaning further into their electronic, dance, and Electric Bassboy influences, and it works.
As always, the gatekeepers will say it’s “not metal enough,” but honestly, the heavy parts are heavier than they’ll ever give the band credit for.
This feels like a band that’s fully comfortable being itself instead of trying to fit anyone else’s definition of metal.
