melodrama is one of my favorite records. but if you live like that another ten years, you get scars. this record lorde shows us all those scars. i feel like i jut read her diary. i want to tell her friends and family to check in and give her a hug. i was listening to this before bed. i was unsettled by it and can't imagine listening to this with people for fun. i had to go put on another record as a palette cleanser. it feels true, gritty and intimate. the vocals are heavily stylized. production is ditinct from her other records and is more rhythmic less melodic. this is brave and cathartic and accomplishes what lorde intended though i don't think i can or will listen to it again soon.

I can’t stop listening to this album. It is literally on repeat in my car, my iPhone, and my MacBook. Beautiful job, Lorde! It is a pure album between the lyrics and sound.
