    I love Melanie Martinez and her other albums Crybaby and Portals are great but this album could have been better. There’s some great songs on this album but most of the songs on this albums just sound the same like a different part to the same song beats and tunes sound almost the same to most of the songs like it’s songs being repeated but with different lyrics. I will say her newest album Hades is better than this one but Crybaby and Portals are her 2 best albums overall.

    As an alt teen who loves alternative and hyperpop music I have to admit that this is my favorite album of all time. It takes you through the world of the K-12 sleep away school and extends the story of Cry Baby. I love Melanie and all of her work so much. She is my favorite singer. I love how Melanie brings in so many different stories into her songs, sometimes straight forward and other times hidden and disguised. My favorite song in the whole world, Lunchbox Friends, is on this album. It is a perfect depiction of fake friends and I love it because, sadly, it is relatable.

    Melanie’s creativity is literally blowing me off. She is so talented and she always makes very good music/songs and I just love the way she makes a bunch of albums with a very different picture every album. I also like the way she has her hair colored, she has it black and white and its very unique for a music or song artist. I also like Melanie’s aesthetic and the way she dresses. ⚠️IF YOU READ ALL OF THIS YOU GET A 🍪!⚠️

    I’ve been a fan of Melanie for over a decade, she’s a phenomenal artist who has a very unique and quirky way of expressing herself through her lyrics. Her crybaby album had my heart for the longest, it really touched on some deep topics that many of us could resonate with. I do also appreciate the evolution of her character, the movie really helped showcase this(among many other things)— which leads me into this album. K-12 is ‘Crybaby’s’(the character) life in the system, which in this case is specifically represented as school. Anyone who lives in the U.S. is woefully aware of just how catastrophically disoriented our education system is(& not just education, ask anyone from anywhere on the political compass haha). I think for her first time writing a film it was pretty good, it was definitely an interesting way to sort of peer into the mind of the artist. Almost reminiscent of the baroque period, the lyrics, parallel to the film created an air of drama as she quite literally protested the traditionalist nature of our society. Without ruining the next ep or album, I believe the transition and the flow of it all was quite impressively thought out. I will say though, this album in particular has some of my favorite songs from her. Of course, the afterschool ep now holds the key to my heart. Despite the many shifts in my perspective, still I find her words very empowering because.. well that’s the beauty of art, how does the saying go? “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. {Thank you all for your time}
