A+ ......An Overlooked & Underrated Classic!

Well I mean I just didn't want to buy this album "just because" You know what I mean? Not if I didn't like it. Just because I"m a lifelong Floyd fan I just wouldn't grab anything of theirs that they did, just like I won't even touch "Ummagumma" no matter how much I love the band. It's just not my thing. Just goes to show you don't have to like everything a favorite group did, even Pink Floyd. The songs people come on here & say is the best such as "Wots.....Uh the Deal?" I don't even like. The reviewer for this album called it a "wonder" but it's my least favorite song on this album. I DO like "When You're In" which I think is one of the best songs on this but only a close 2nd to "Free Four" which I've always liked since the first time I ever heard it. It's much like "San Tropez" off of "Meddle", the kind of song that one can immediately like, it has that sort of groove to it. Otherwise the rest is just Floyd being prententious as they are often won't to do at times. But if this is your cup of tea then have at it, don't let me stop ya.

Love that song. Since I first heard it in 1990. A little late but always a favorite. Still have my “Waiting for the Worms” mask handed out at the wall concert in Germany at the gate. So many years ago......

For me, Pink Floyds very best album in total.

Extremely underrated. You will be suprised that youd never heard of it

I bought this at a used music store because “live in Pompeii” got me interested in pre-dark side floyd. I was pleasantly surprised. I fell in with this album while riding my bike through the park. I'd listen to this any day over Wish You Were Here or The Wall. I think it might get overlooked because it’s often referred to as a soundtrack but it functions as a bonefied floyd studio album to my ears. It has a nice blend of atmospherics and earthy ballads. It has a nice flow and balance from instrumentals, ballads and rock numbers. If I had to be picky the last track seems a little out of place. I think it might be audio from the movie.

Thanks Kamicosi. Because of your review I am purchasing this album. Never even knew it existed. I now feel the need to dust off my guitar and start playing again. Awesomeness. I wish I could see them in concert just one more time.
